How to Take Screenshots On Chromebook
Users transitioning from Windows often struggle with the unfamiliar keyboard layout of Chromebooks. Fortunately, capturing screenshots on a Chromebook is as straightforward as it is on Windows or Macs.
In this guide, we will explore multiple methods to easily take screenshots on your Chromebook.
Quick Ways to Screenshot on a Chromebook
- Using Keyboard Shortcuts:
The fastest method for taking a screenshot on a Chromebook is through a simple keyboard shortcut. Just press CTRL + Show Windows. The Show Windows key, often represented by a rectangle and two vertical lines, can be found on the top row of your keyboard. - Using a Chromebook Tablet or 2-in-1 Device:
If you own a Chromebook tablet, like the Lenovo Chromebook Duet, or a 2-in-1 device such as the Acer Chromebook Spin 713, you can take a screenshot differently. Hold down the power button and the volume down button simultaneously to capture your screen. - Using the Stylus on Compatible Devices:
If your Chromebook supports a stylus, you have another convenient option for taking screenshots. Access the Stylus Tools menu by clicking on the pen icon located on the far right of the home taskbar, next to the WiFi and battery status indicators. From there, click on the dashed rectangle to capture your entire screen.
Where are Chromebook Screenshots Saved?
After capturing screenshots, you may wonder where they are stored. Screenshots usually appear pinned to your home taskbar. If you don’t see them, click on the launcher (the white dot) located at the bottom left of your screen.
Then, click the upward arrow, select “Files,” and navigate to the “Images” folder to find all your screenshots.
You can easily move them to Google Photos, Google Drive, or other platforms by selecting all (CTRL + A), right-clicking (touchpad press + ALT), and choosing your desired destination.
